Religion and
belief.
The Viking Age was a period of notable religious change in
Scandinavia. Most Vikings were all pagans, with a hatred of the Christian
Church. Almost the entire population of
Scandinavia was pagan at the beginning of the Viking Age, but the Vikings had
numerous gods for example the two main gods, Odin the god of Valholl, the hall
of the slain, where those who died in battle are welcomed by his war-maidens known
as Valkyries and Thor the god of thunder, war and farming. By the end of the Viking
age most of Scandinavia countries adopted Christianity as their main
religion.
